Latest Work - An Experiment!

I have always been intrigued by Pointillism as an artistic technique and have had a few stabs at it over the years. This latest effort - a portrait of my late Father - is by far the most ambitious and, as it turned out, technically-challenging.

I used a Cuttlelola Electric Dotspen on watercolour paper to produce this monochrome portrait. This is a new product that takes a lot of the tedium out of dealing with large areas of tone using the Pointillist technique. It still requires a lot of concentration and stamina, though!

I have previously overlaid the drawing with watercolour washes but decided against it on this occasion.
